The town set was built specifically for the series in North Beaver Bank, Nova Scotia

Scenario

Uncover the mystery of a town in the central United States that imprisons all who enter it. As the residents struggle to maintain a sense of normalcy and search for a way out, they must also survive the threats of the surrounding forest. The site, known as Beaver Bank Villa, has a long history and many years ago contained housing, a community hall, fire station, school, church, convenience store, etc. (all demolished in 2004) to support workers at a nearby military radar base that operated in the 1950s and 1960s.

Cobblestone streets and driveways were all that remained, and the fake town was built on top of it. When Boyd enters a distant tree, he finds himself at the bottom of a well. A rope is dropped on him by (presumably) Martin in the room above despite his wrists being chained. are really cool

I’ve loved this show so far and the acting and mysteries etc. However, I’m starting to worry a little about it getting too close to the “Lost” vibe. While “Lost” was also a fantastic show in terms of acting, directing etc. In the end, what bothered me was how much of the mystery was there just to be mysterious.

It’s never mentioned or explained in any way, ever again

Watching the second season, I found myself getting a little bored every time another weird mystery was introduced, whether it was a symbol, an object, a thing, an event… mostly because I can’t help but think “Will this be relevant in the long run in any way? Is it just one of those mysterious creatures in the fog, a trapdoor or a light, etc.? Because that kind of mystery writing eventually gets on my nerves, because the writer can reach into his or her butt and pull out absolutely anything and never come back to it.” Okay, next up is a llama in a red hat muttering the words “paleontological” and “spatula”!

” and that’s it, forgotten about a season later, no explanation, it was just there to be weird

Still, I’ll keep watching, but if it has an ending one day where it’s just at the level of “it was all in his head!” and there’s no attempt to tie some thematic logic to it all, then consider this review at least 2-3 points lower…
